As we all prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, it is easy to overlook the supply chain behind the holiday. When researching for this blog post, I came across an article that said it best. On Wednesday May 15, CSCMP's NY/NJ roundtable hosted a tour of Maher’s Marine Terminal Operation in Port Elizabeth, NJ. This port terminal has been consistently recognized for several years running as the best terminal operation throughout all of the NY/NJ ports. On Wednesday May 8, CSCMP's NY/NJ roundtable was fortunate enough to tour Amazon's EWR4 fulfillment center in Robbinsville, NJ. This facility is known as the "Beast of the East" with the highest volumes in the Amazon network.
We received a standard tour of the facility. Areas we saw were:
