A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Welcome to CSCMP NY/NJ!
This is your New York/New Jersey bi-state area source for professional development and networking with industry peers. Your CSCMP NY/NJ Roundtable is a vital connection to increasing customers, and business associates and your knowledge of the industry. Roundtables around the world serve to enhance your career and advance your profession at the local level.
As your president, I’m looking forward to meeting more of our members, welcoming new members, and collaborating with all stakeholders on value-add opportunities.
The New York/New Jersey Roundtable of CSCMP is deeply involved in the greater supply chain & logistics community, and our board represents a cross-section of industries and functions. As a roundtable, CSCMP NY/NJ focuses on connecting membership with opportunities to enhance their supply chain career development. We do this in two major ways:
1. Professional Development
From September through May, we organize membership (non-members are of course welcome) events focusing on the latest industry trends and issues. We seek out content to meet the interests of all facets of the supply chain, from procurement to reverse logistics, and everything in between. Program Chairperson, Lindi Gold, welcomes all ideas for future program ideas. All of our member events (tours or panel discussions) count as 1 Continuing Education Credit for those enrolled in CSCMP’s SC Pro Certification Program.
2. Fostering New Supply Chain Talent
Each year, our Sponsors enable us to continue to offer our Rhoda Isaacs Scholarship Program, currently led by Past President, Suzanne Richer. This year we plan to award a monetary scholarship in addition to sponsoring a student to attend the CSCMP Annual Global Conference. Applicants must have a current CSCMP Student Membership (extremely affordable and attainable). As a member of CSCMP’s national Young Professionals Committee, I am proud to say that CSCMP recognizes the specific needs of post grads who have recently landed in the supply chain workforce and those post grads looking to join it. Membership for those 32 and under is heavily discounted. Also, the Annual Conference will feature a track specifically designed for the interests and needs of Young Professionals.
We welcome fellow supply chain practitioners to attend our meetings, join CSCMP, and even sponsor Roundtable events – one of the keys to driving our stewardship goals, and a great way to reach potential customers and clients. Our sponsorship Chair is Roundtable veteran Ray Kuvonuk.
Please join us at one of our Upcoming Events – a great opportunity to network with fellow accomplished supply chain professionals. Whether you’re looking to benchmark with peers, find supply chain talent, land your next big client, or learn about an interesting topic – this is the place for you.
