COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update
March 24, 2020
To our supply chain community and members of the local New York & New Jersey CSCMP Roundtable:
We recognize that with the ever-changing COVID-19 situation around the world, this is an unprecedented time for everyone which is filled with uncertainty.
Our goal has always been to provide relevant and informative content to our supply chain community through the events and e-newsletters we share with our subscribers and members. At this time, we are postponing events hosted by the New York & New Jersey CSCMP Roundtable indefinitely. As of right now, our hope is to be able to host our first event at some point in October 2020 to keep the momentum going after the CSCMP Edge Conference scheduled to take place September 20th-23rd in Orlando, Florida.
We had initial thoughts and discussions about moving our events to virtual settings, but there are many groups that can provide better, more real time insight and expertise throughout this pandemic. While our efforts do provide a positive impact on the supply chain community, now, more than ever, we need to take care of our families, businesses, and communities, and protect them all.
We are a volunteer organization and we cannot ask our board members to endanger themselves in any way by participating in events during this time. Also, with supply chain activities being pushed to the limits and the responsibilities of supply chain professionals being more critical than ever we owe it to our families, businesses, and communities to focus our efforts on helping everyone we can.
As with anything in life, no matter how bad something may look, if you look hard enough, you can find some good. For us in the supply chain community, this is a time where everyone will be paying closer attention to how the supply chain works. From planning, to sourcing, to manufacturing, and through delivery, the world is more aware of what we all do, and they will be able to see the true value that all the members of the supply chain community deliver on a daily basis.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to each and every one of you. If there is anything the New York & New Jersey CSCMP Roundtable can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to reach out (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please be safe and stay healthy.
