Jim Shi

Hurlburt Chair Professor at NJIT

Dr. Jim Shi is the Hurlburt Chair professor at NJIT.   His research interests lie in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Business Data Sciences (BDS), Financial Technology (FinTech), Container Shipping Logistics, Blockchain Technology for SCM, Crowdsourcing Economics, Supply Chain Risk and Sustainability, Healthcare Operations, etc.  His research has been funded by USDA, IBM and Leir Charitable Foundations.  Dr. Shi used to be a visiting professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and a visiting professor at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. His scholarly research has been recognized with the Outstanding Research Awards at NJIT. Dr. Shi has received the IBM Faculty Award to recognize his research on Blockchain Technology.

Anne Strauss-Wieder

Director, Freight Planning, North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority

Currently serving as the Director of Freight Planning for the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), Anne has over 40 years of public and private sector experience involving supply chains, industrial and economic development, resilience, and freight movement.  Ms. Strauss-Wieder is in leadership roles in several national professional organizations including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, TRB, and NAIOP. She was also an appointed member of the US Department of Commerce’s Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness and the US Maritime Administration’s Marine Transportation System National Advisory Committee. Ms. Strauss-Wieder also developed and teaches a graduate course on Freight and Public Policy at Rutgers University. She has a BA and MA in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania and was a Lead New Jersey 2010 Fellow
